Rangeley Health & Wellness to host community visioning March 7

Mar. 42018

RANGELEY — Rangeley Health and Wellness has always recognized the importance of understanding the needs of the community and working together with all the caring, engaged community members we call friends.
In the mid 90s, 2007 and 2014, the organization has sponsored community visioning events.

These events brought a lot of parties to the table and for brainstorming about all the needs the community had. RHW provided the feedback to many non-profit organizations, and each of them took on a little piece of the project, which has led to positive changes in the area, including expanded medical services, expanded library services, additional day care providers, increased businesses, expanded land for recreational use and senior programs.
RHW has decided it is time to revisit the visioning process and see where the community feels it needs to go over the next five years. The event is open to the public, and community members are urged to attend, bringing co-workers and friends Wednesday March 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gym at Rangeley Lakes Regional School, Mendolia Road. Participants are being asked to think about what Rangeley currently has to offer, what is missing, and what might enhance the community. Ideas might include bringing more business to the area, providing better access to the internet, providing mental health services — the list is endless and open. No one organization can take on all the needs, but working together the area’s citizens can make an impact on the community’s way of life.
RHW promises the evening will be engaging, informative and extremely useful to the community as plans for the future are formed. There will be a full recap of the event in the local paper to allow people, who could not attend, to learn about the important items touched upon that night. RHW will provide a light beverage and snack to keep participants fortified during the discussion, and the event will last no more than two hours.
RHW is a non profit 501(c)3 dedicated to bringing quality health and wellness services to Rangeley and the surrounding communities.
