AUGUSTA — The Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine will host its fourth Hearts for Human Rights Fundraiser from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport.
The benefit event will feature a live auction, cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, and a music and dance performance by Maine Rwandan cultural group, Ikirenga cy’Intore.

This year’s auction includes prize items and unique experiences from around the state, including a guided fly fishing trip at the Upper Dam Pool in the Rangeley Lakes region; a three-night summer stay at a Sugarloaf cabin; a lobster dinner at the historic Orr’s Island’s Captain Morrill’s House; a scenic flight with a Maine State representative; a book club visit from Maine author Monica Wood; signed literature; live music; and more.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the free educational programming that the HHRC brings to Maine students across the state with materials from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Facing History and Ourselves, and other organizations. The suggested donation for the event is $40 per person or $300 for a table of eight. The RSVP date is Wednesday, Jan. 31.

The HHRC is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment on weekends and evenings.
