Benefit event for Readfield fire chief to be Jan. 27

READFIELD — The Readfield Firefighters Association is hosted a benefit potluck dinner to help Fire Chief Lee Mank, who is ill and unable to work.
The benefit begins at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Readfield Elementary School, South Road. Music will be provided by DJ Josh.

“Our very dedicated and devoted fire chief, Lee Mank, has been ill for quite some time and has been hospitalized a few times since Christmas,” said a news release from the RFA. “Lee is also the owner/operator of his own business here in town and has not been able to work. Medical bills are piling up with no way to pay them.

“So, let’s all come together…to show our appreciation and support for everything that Chief Mank as done for our community and continues to do to this day,” the release said.

DJ Josh and Zumba with Karen Dube and her class are joining the RFA to host the event. There will be a suggested donation of $10 per person or $25 per family.

Anyone who would like to donate food or money, but can’t attend the dinner may call Karen Dube at 207-631-1852.Food will be picked up if it can’t be delivered.
