GARDINER — Maine School Administrative District 11 Adult Education is hosting a two-hour mulit-media, 3D historic discovery program on the history of Maine sportsmen and the sporting camp tradition, presented by the Friends of the Maine State Museum.
The presentation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Gardiner Area High School.
Attendees will be guided through the history of Maine sportsmen and the sporting camp tradition with the director of the Maine State Museum, Bernard Fishman. Fishman will present and narrate more than 60 century-old historic stereoview images of Maine Sporting Camps in 3D. Glasses for viewing will be provided.
Jennifer Dube, director of the Friends of the Maine State Museum, will complement the 3D image narration with a documentary video that includes rich stories of avid Maine sportsmen and woman who share a deep and important traditional knowledge of an important Maine community — the avid Maine Sportsmen and Sporting Camp Tradition, said a news release from SAD 11.
