Fournier named first executive director of CRCWM

Jan. 72018

NORWAY — Janet Fournier has been named executive director of the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, Barb Deschenes, board president announced in a news release.
The post is newly created. Sherri Otterson will continue as part-time volunteer and program coordinator, the release said.

Fournier, a resident of South Paris, brings a diverse background in finance, project and business management to our organization, the release said. Her ongoing experiences as caregiver and her passion for community service will be an asset to the CRC as we continue to shape a critical service in our region for people dealing with cancer.

“As a newly established non-profit organization, hiring an executive director will help us to create the infrastructure to grow our services and meet the increasing demand, as well as to serve a wider geographic area,” Deschenes said.

“Janet’s new role will be vital to the center, as she will coordinate and contribute to all efforts to grow the CRC,” Deshenes said.

Fournier started Jan. 2. “This is my ‘dream’ job,” she said. “It’s the old cliché: I can finally utilize my skillset in a very meaningful way. I’ll be helping others deal cope with the trials of cancer…as others have helped my family.”
The center is at 199 Main St. For more information, visit crcofwm.org.
