LEWISTON — All are welcome and invited come in out of the cold to attend the Dance Party Social — featuring African music — at Gendron Franco Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, in Heritage Hall, 46 Cedar St. On-site parking is available, and the center is handicapped accessible.
This is the center’s first, five-hour event to bring all who love to listen to and dance to African music together on one night.
“We are hoping that everyone will feel welcome to come and meet new friends from all over Africa and beyond,” said Mitch Thomas, the center’s executive director. Nigel Katende is the young DJ providing African dance music, including Afro-Beat, Lingala, Zouk, Soukous and more.
