SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will collect mother and baby items for Maine’s Wabanaki people during the month of January.
New or almost-new items will be delivered to the Maine tribal communities most in need. Items may be dropped off at the church Sundays from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m., during the Jan. 6 supper from 5 to 7 p.m., Jan. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m., or during the woodcarvers meeting Jan. 13 from 2 to 3 p.m.
Baby items needed include sleepers, T-shirts, onesies, booties, socks, crib blankets, cotton baby caps, bottles and brushes, diaper rash ointment and soft toys. For mothers, items needed include lotion, toothbrush and tooth paste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, comb and brush, toiletries.
