RUMFORD — The Rumford Group Home has issues “a very special thank-you to Roger Whitehouse” for playing Santa Clas and “making this holiday special for children living in our homeless shelters.”
Michele Worthley, director of the home, also thanked those who donated gifts for children in the shelters, including Mexico Walmart, Dead River in Farmington and Rumford, Ta-Dah’s Hairstyling, Turner Publishing, Riverside Realty, River Valley Rotary Club, the Festival of Trees Committee and the hundred-plus senior citizens who supported the cause.
The home this year was supporting 15 homeless families as Christmas approached, Worthley said.
Thank-yous were also extended to Roy Howes, Laura Allen and family of Canton, Carlene Robinson of Mexico, Robert Hodgkins and Sandra LaVertu of Mexico, Elaine and Thomas Beauchesne of Roxbury, Kathy Brooks of Dixfield, Clara and Mike Myles and their grandson Kerry Greer of Dixfield, Jack and Charlotte Davis of Peru, Barbara Smith of Rumford, Ronnieann Pelletier of Andover, and Roger Whitehouse and Judy Ellis of Peru, as well as the anonymous “Secret Santas” who donated anonymously.
