LEWISTON — The Central Maine Human Resources Association will present a program for employers, big and small, updating them on employment law issues over the past year beginning at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9,at the Carriage House, 1119 Lisbon St.
This year, there will be a panel of attorneys who will bring attendees up to date on a series of pressing issues for employers. Each presenter will speak for 30 minutes, with the final 30 minutes comprised of a question and answer session.
Topics include:
* Cellphones and Their Impact on the Workplace;
* Political Speech at Work in this Polarized World;
* Recent Developments in the Area of Transgender Employees;
* The Latest News in Sexual Harassment;
* Return to Work Issues, Forever Thorny
The speakers are Kelly Hoffman from Norman Hanson & DeTroy, Rebecca Webber from Skelton Taintor & Abbott, and Peter Lowe from Brann & Isaacson. Combined, they represent decades of experience in employment law and have many practical insights to offer. The cost for the program is only $25 and includes breakfast. The meetings are free to CMHRA members.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. There is time to network before and after the program. Registration on line is preferred and available at www.cmhra.org.
