AUGUSTA – The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce will host a Modern Mornings breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Senator Inn and Spa with a presentation titled, “Your Government is Your Business,” by Tim Walton, founder and president of Walton External Affairs. Admission is charged.
Modern Mornings is a breakfast series that covers topics including education, development, politics, and business resources. Speakers with expertise in these areas present thought-provoking ideas leaving you with motivation and new knowledge, keeping the Kennebec Valley up to date and providing information on how to make businesses successful.
Business and industry leaders are constantly faced with a rush of multifaceted issues, leaving barely enough time to accomplish the necessary tasks each day, let alone fumbling through a cumbersome governmental system.
Walton will walk participants through a grassroots approach to better understanding the legislative process and offer easy-to-use tools to help navigate it. Walton is a graduate of the University of Maine system where he received a bachelor’s degree in public administration. Combined with his education, his extensive professional experience includes political issue and business management, trade and industry association management, communications, advocacy, fundraising and business development, and strategic planning and governance. With a notable career spanning over 25 years, Walton has earned the reputation of being an effective, resourceful and responsive voice for those he represents. He is well-known and highly respected for his commitment to customer service and client satisfaction
