WATERVILLE — Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area is offering support groups for anyone anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one or significant person through suicide, as well as a separate group for parents who have lost a child.
The eight-week group for those affected by suicide will begin on Thursday, Jan. 4. Sessions will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and are led by facilitators who have also experienced a loss by suicide.
The Grieving Parents group, for mothers and fathers who have experienced the death of a child through illness or unexpectedly, such as in an accident or by suicide, will continue for six weeks.
The group begins Wednesday, Jan. 10, and sessions will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Group facilitators are trained hospice volunteers who have experienced the loss of a child.
Registration is required and there is no charge to attend. Meetings will be held at the Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area Community Center, 304 Main St.
