Dec. 92017

AUGUSTA — F.D. Stonewater and the Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services held a groundbreaking ceremony Dec. 8, celebrating the start of the 109 Capitol St. state office development.

When completed in 2019, the new complex will be home to more than 500 employees, comprising both administrative staff of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and finance and human resources staff of the Department of Administrative and Financial Services.

The first major addition to the State House complex since the construction of the State of Maine’s cultural building in the 1970s, the groundbreaking event will bring state and municipal government stakeholders together with the development team to celebrate the start of construction.

The new complex is at the site of the former Department of Transportation garage and offices, which was relocated to Leighton Road in in North Augusta.
