LEEDS — The Rural Community Action Ministry has a number of volunteer opportunities for residents of the 14 central Maine towns it serves.
The ministry issued a remember this month that volunteering is not only good for others; it’s good for you too. Studies show that volunteering contributes to both your mental and physical health by reducing stress and depression and encouraging physical activity, among many other benefits.
The RCAM provides homelessness and hunger prevention services in Buckfield, Canton, Greene, Hartford, Leeds, Litchfield, Livermore, Monmouth, Sabattus, Sumner, Turner, Wales and Wayne.
Volunteer opportunities include transportation for seniors to medical appointments, office work, gardening work, help with a fundraiser, and miscellaneous on-call activities.
