NORTH BRIDGTON — The Lake Region Community Chorus will hold its fifth annual Holiday Concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Twitchell Chapel, Bridgton Academy, 11 Academy Lane.
The local choral group is made up of 55 singers from 14 surrounding towns. They will present a program of songs comprising many different styles and genres.
The concert will showcase a blend of holiday and winter songs, including “Mary, Did You Know?” “Sleigh Ride,” “White Christmas” and the “Hallelujah Chorus,” with audience participation.
The program will also include accompaniments provided by local musicians Rusty Wiltjer and Mark Priola, percussion; the Reverend Cynthia Priem, violin; and Zachary Gray, trumpet. Musicians from the chorus include Ginny Halligan, flute; Carolyn Stanhope, bells; Pam Ward, guitar;_ _Jan Jukkola, clarinet; and Glen Jukkola, violin.
The LRCC is directed by Jan Jukkola, Dan Allen and Nancy Capone. The group is accompanied by Carolyn Stanhope and Sara-Sue Schreiber. Donations to help cover the purchasing of music and operating costs will be accepted.
