AUBURN — The Auburn Community Concert Band, under the direction of Milt Simon, will present its 36th annual holiday concert 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St.
The 75-minute performance is free. The 46-member concert band comprises volunteer musicians from 16 central Maine communities who range in age from 14 to 88. The group will perform both traditional and contemporary holiday favorites.
As has been the tradition for nearly three decades, those attending the performance will have the opportunity to make a donation to the local branch of the Salvation Army. All money collected that evening will be used to help area residents in need of assistance. For the past five years, full-house audience contributions have exceeded $1,000, following each of the ACCB’s holiday performances.
