Anonymous donor pledges to match Mount Pisgah contributions up to $20,000

WINTHROP — To help the Kennebec Land Trust expand Mount Pisgah Conservation Area, an anonymous donor has offered a 1-for-1 matching gift challenge.

All new Mount Pisgah gifts will be matched dollar for dollar up to a total of $20,000, the Kennebec Land Trust said in a news release.

All money will support the purchase of an additional 139 acres to expand the popular wildlife conservation area.

To date, land trust donors and foundations have contributed $55,800 to the campaign; the trust still must raise $60,700 by the end of January to cover the land purchase price.

Some 15,000 hikers and outdoors lovers visit the Mount Pisgah Conservation Area every year.
