Casco to hold a ‘Village Christmas’ beginning Dec. 1

CASCO — The town will host a “Village Christmas” the first weekend of December.

Events kick off with the tree lighting at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the Village Green, with the Lake Region High School band and chorus, as well as the Mayberry Hill Preschool children providing music.

There will be children’s activities at the Community Center with cookie decorating, ornament making, and a visit from Santa Claus.

On Saturday, Dec. 2, the Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, 941 Meadow Road (Route 121), will hold its second annual Christmas in the Village fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fair features vendors, wreaths, music, food, raffles and shopping.

There will also be a lobster roll-corn chowder luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Also on Saturday, the Casco Public Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with special Saturday hours and feature stories and pictures with Santa from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On Sunday, Dec. 3, the first Sunday of Advent, the Casco Village Church UCC will have a special worship service at 10 a.m. with the Hanging of the Greens by the Sunday School children.
