FAYETTE — The Kennebec Land Trust will host a walk at the Parker Pond Headland Preserve at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19.
The preserve is a 142-acre forested peninsula with 5,000 feet of rocky undeveloped shoreline along Parker Pond.
The event marks the 30th anniversary of the Land for Maine’s Future Program.
Established by Maine voters in 1987, the LMF Program has conserved more than 600,000 acres of land, including working farms, forests, and waterfronts; trails for snowmobilers, hikers, bikers and ATV enthusiasts; access to rivers, ponds, lakes, and the ocean; community parks; town forests; beaches; and mountaintop vistas.
The land trust received support from the LMF Program to conserve the Parker Pond Headland Preserve, in collaboration with the Diller and Karp families, and the Parker Pond Association.
The walk is free and open to the public, no registration necessary.
