LEWISTON — CFRE International has announced that Joleen Bedard, executive director at United Way of Androscoggin County, recently joined more than 6,000 professionals around the world who hold the CFRE — cerfified fund raising executive — designation.
Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International, which include tenure in the profession, education and demonstrated fundraising achievement for not-for-profit organizations, according to the organization.
They have also passed a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills and abilities required of a fundraising executive, and have agreed to uphold Accountability Standards and The Donor Bill of Rights.
Bedard has 25 years of non-profit leadership experience and holds a master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University and an undergraduate degree from St. Joseph’s College. She lives in Turner with her family.
