Larin Taxidermy racks up more awards

MILAN, N.H. — Hidden off the beaten path at the end of a quiet, country road, you will find an unusual sort of art studio brimming with truly awesome wildlife masterpieces. Since 2005, Larin Taxidermy, founded by Jon Larin, has specialized in whitetail deer and big game mounts and has since become recognized and sought-after for excellence in taxidermy circles throughout New England.
You may remember the story we ran last fall about Larin’s associate, Alex Harrington, who took an interest in the art form at the age of seven, practicing taxidermy on birds and road kill in his grandmother’s kitchen. Harrington has since done hundreds of mounts for Larin Taxidermy and now, at the age of 24, Harrington continues to rack up one award after another.

In just this past year, Harrington has won 10 awards, including Breakthrough Award for Judges’ Choice, Best in Show; state Taxidermist of the Year, National Taxidermists Association; Best Life-Size Mammal, McKenzie’s Taxidermy Supply Competitors Choice; People’s Choice Award (public and competitor) Maine Association of Taxidermist; Most Artistic Entry, WASCO Judges’ Choice; Best of Show in Masters Division and Grand Champion Mammal Taxidermist, Northern New England Taxidermy Championship (first place ribbon for bobcat and snowshoe hare, and best of category for bobcat). Having won two first place ribbons in the Masters Division, Harrington has now achieved the status of Master Mammal Taxidermist.
Larin Taxidermy serves clients in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Larin and Harrington are dedicated to producing top quality mounts with unsurpassed realism that will last a lifetime. Customers and their trophy are given personal attention, and only the finest materials and the best commercial tanneries are used for each species.
John and Alex are dedicated to providing a quality product that will be a reminder of your hunting or fishing trip, and they will take the time to help you integrate your trophy into its new home, too.
