They say time flies when you’re having fun, and we’re having a blast! We can hardly believe the Summer Reading Program is almost over! Participants have until August 13th to turn in their reading logs for prizes.
On August 6th at 6 p.m., we’re having our final SRP program. We’re swapping recipes! Bring a copy of your favorite recipe and be prepared to swap and share! Recipe cards will be provided so you may add to your collection. This program is for all ages, so please come join the fun!
We’re so excited to honor all of our awesome summer readers; we’re going BUGGY! Join us on August 13th at 6 p.m. for a Bug Bash – with games, prizes, and snacks to celebrate the end of summer reading! Bring in your reading logs and receive prizes. Everyone who participated in the Summer Reading Program will receive a certificate, goody bag, and be entered to win our annual SRP book basket raffle! Can’t make the finale? No worries! Email Alana at assist.treatlib@gmail.com and we’ll make sure there’s a raffle entry and a goody bag set aside.
Homeschool Group will meet once a month for the summer. Our August meet up will be on the 12th at 11:30 a.m. We will have activities for learning and creative play. This month’s activity theme will be Investigating Insects! Join us if you would like to connect with other homeschooling families.
Book Club will be meeting Thursday, August 13th at 3 p.m. We’ll be reading The Way Life Should Be by Christina Baker Kline, as part of our Maine Women Authors series. The meeting will be in person with a Zoom option. Please let staff know if you would like the zoom link for the meeting.
Did you know August is National Dog Month? Come and meet (and maybe read to) our therapy dog friends from Love on a Leash! They will be joining us on Thursday, August 20th for Tails and Tales from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
On Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., join us for Craft Circle. Bring your own project or learn along with us! This is a craft group for all ages.
Join us Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. for Lego Explorers. Come and take on a challenge or build your own vision! Completed Lego masterpieces will be on display in the library for the following week.
Every two weeks, we will have new themed Story Time packets with crafts and other early literacy activities to take home. Pair the packets with a book from our Story Time to Go display that matches the theme. Have fun with books and activities with your family at your own convenience!
If you have questions about your phone, tablet, or computer or how to navigate online, our visiting tech teacher, Ernie Steward from Spruce Mountain Adult Education, will be here Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m.
Amy Lesko, from Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset Counties, will be here on Friday, August 21st from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for those looking for more general help. Need help printing a recipe, studying for a test, or improving your reading skills? Ask Amy!
