Auburn Fire Department open house is Oct. 21

AUBURN — The Auburn Fire Department will welcome local families to a free open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Central Station, 550 Minot Ave. The open house, sponsored by Papa Gino’s restaurant, is aimed at teaching families fire safety and prevention practices.
The event recognizes October’s National Fire Safety Month.
Participants will receive safety tips such as “stop, drop and roll;” learn how to use a fire hose; and have the opportunity to try on firefighter gear.

Papa Gino’s will provide free pizza and children’s fire-safety coloring sheets. There also will be fire safety information and goodies available for children, along with a bounce house and a free raffle for door prizes.
Lewiston/Auburn 911 and the local chapter of the American Red Cross will be guests for the day. The free raffle prizes include two fire extinguishers, an escape ladder, four tickets to Flagship Movie Cinemas and three combination smoke/carbon monoxide detectors.
