SeniorsPlus Living Well workshops begin Oct. 31

LEWISTON — A six-week Living Well for Better Health workshop series will be held at SeniorsPlus, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 31.
The workshops are for anyone with a long-term health issue, and provides information on how to feel better and manage health, including making daily tasks easier, managing stress and new ways to find support and solutions to health concerns. The Living Well workshop has been shown to reduce hospitalizations by improving a person’s ability to take care of their health, according to a news release from SeniorsPlus.

The free workshop sessions are two and a half hours long and held evenings once a week at the Education Center, SeniorsPlus, 8 Falcon Road. Discussion and activities focus on topics such as dealing with frustration, exercising at your level of ability, working with your health care provider, setting personal goals, managing pain, healthy eating and improving communication skills. Family members, friends and caregivers can also participate.
Participants will be loaned a book and relaxation CD for your use during class. At the end of the six weeks, there will be a drawing for a $25 Visa gift card. Snacks will be provided each week.
