Community Credit Union donates to Safe Voices pantry

LEWISTON – Community Credit Union presented Safe Voices with a check in the amount of $250 to help supply the food pantry at the shelter.
Safe Voices offers support for those affected by domestic violence with offices in Farmington, Lewiston, South Paris/Norway and Rumford. The local offices provide one-on-one support, support groups, children’s services, advocacy, information, referrals, court advocacy, transportation and accommodation for shelter, community education and professional trainings.

Community Credit Union participates in the Maine Credit Union League’s Campaign for Ending Hunger. Maine Credit Unions have raised more than $7.2 million since 1990 to help end hunger in Maine, according to a news release from the credit union. At the end of each year, 100 percent of the money raised by each participating credit union is given back to that credit union to be distributed to hunger organization in their community. In 2016, participating Maine Credit Unions raised a new record total of $674,000 for the Ending Hunger Campaign, the release said.
