NORWAY – The DASH diet is a lifelong approach to healthy eating designed to help treat or prevent high blood pressure (hypertension). DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. The DASH diet encourages reducing sodium in your diet and eating a variety of foods rich in nutrients that help lower blood pressure. Stephens Memorial Hospital’s registered dietitian, Pat Watson, will conduct a class to help participants learn more about this eating plan while sampling delicious, low-sodium, heart-healthy recipes. DASH diet booklets and recipes will be provided.
