SeniorsPlus to host program on L-A merger on October schedule

LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus will host an informational session about the proposed Lewiston and Auburn merger, one of the offerings on its Education Center’s October calendar.

Programs at the center, 8 Falcon Way, are free unless otherwise noted.

The session on the Lewiston-Auburn merger will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, with guests Holly Lasagna and Charles Morrison, of the Joing Charter Commission. The proposal to have one municipal government with one charter, one mayor, one city council and one school department is on the Nov. 7 ballot.

Also on the schedules, is a a variety of area agencies will be available at a volunteer fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the center.

Other offerings will include Converting a Business to an Employee-Owned Co-Op, Spooky Crafts, Safe Driving by AARP, as well as ongoing courses, and more.
