LEEDS — The Rural Community Action Ministry Hunger Coalition healthy snack donation tote is appearing in grocery stores across central Maine, with the next location Food City, 1355 Auburn Road, in Turner.
Shoppers are invited to purchase a health snack for the tote, which will be distributed in elementary school classrooms in Regional School Unit 52, which comprises Turner, Green and Leeds.
The tote was recently at the Greene IGA, and 31 healthy snacks have been donated over the past four weeks. The snacks make a big difference in classrooms at snack time.
