Pianist Fung to perform at Franco Center Sept. 22

LEWISTON — Concert pianist and teacher David Fung will perform at the Gendron Franco Center in Lewiston at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22. The program will include works by Mozart, Villa-Lobos, Messiaen and Schubert, as well as the artist’s arrangement of Ravel’s La Valse.
Fung, a native of Australia, garnered international attention as a winner in two of the “top five” international piano competitions, the 2008 Arthur Rubinstein Piano International Masters Competition in Tel Aviv, and the 2013 Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in Brussels. In Tel Aviv, he received additional awards for Best Classical Concerto and Best Performance of Chamber Music.

The Dolard and Priscilla Gendron Franco Center is at 46 Cedar S., and is handicap accessible. Parking is included in the price of the ticket. All proceeds to benefit the Franco Center.
