Aug. 282017

LEWISTON — The Education Center at SeniorsPlus has announced its September calendar, with some special offerings like Using a Kindle Fire, Facebook for Newbies and being part of the Legacy Storytelling Program.

Classes are free, unless stated otherwise, and take place at 8 Falcon Road.

The course Using a Kindle Fire will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, and is an introduction to making the most of the Amazon device. There is a 24-person limit.

Legacy Storytellers will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association. This is an introduction to a program that begins in October, at which college students interview and write the life stories of people living with dementia or memory challenges.

For details, contact Mark Pechenik at mpechenik@alz.org or 772-0115.

Facebook for Newbies will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28. Facebook is a great way to keep in contact with friends and family, it can also help you stay up-to-date in current events and news and local happenings. This class will walk participants through the steps of creating an account, posting pictures, sending messages, how to set up preferences and more.
