RANGELEY — Former Maine TV weatherman Kevin Mannix and social worker Linda Rota will speak at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Rangeley Public Library about their book “Weathering Shame.”
The husband and wife team share their personal childhood traumas caused by difficult family issues and illnesses. Recognizing the influence of those experiences their life choices and behavior, the authors hope to reach out to others who have experienced the stigma and shame associated with difficult family situations, as well as encourage society to be more compassionate and less stigmatizing.
The authors will be available at the program to sell and sign copies of their book. This program is free to all, but the library requests those planning to attend call 207-864-5529 to RSVP.
