SOUTH PARIS — Winners at the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce 31st Annual Leon Truman Chamber Golf Classic have been announced.
The classic, played Monday, Aug. 14, at the Poland Spring Resort drew 28 teams.
Prizes were awarded to the low gross and low net winners, along with some other contests, including longest drive and closest to the pin.
The longest drive went to Janet Nelson and Ryan Yates and the closest to the pin winners were Cathy LaMontagne and Eric Dube.
The Bessey Motor Sales team won the casino hole, and a foursome to Poland Spring Resort, with a winning poker hand of eights over aces. Bruce Fadden won the On the Green contest and walked away with a stay-and-play package from the Bethel Inn Resort. Eric Eddy won a 43-inch flat screen TV donated by the Oxford Walmart for sinking the putt in the putting green contest.
The low net winner was the Oxford Casino team of J.D. Donahue, Wayne Hackett, Randy Payson and Max Power, with a score of 49.8. The second place team with a score of 51.4 was the Truman Fore/Western Property Hills Group team of Mark, Freda, Lee and Ryon Truman. The third place winner, with a score of 51.8, was the Norway Savings Bank ladies team of Karen Hakala, Holly Young, Dana Myles and Betty Jordan.
The low gross winner and recipient of the trophy was the Dead River team of Ryan Yates, John Yates, Craig Jester and Tim Smith with a score of 57.
The second place low gross winner was the Roopers Beverage & Redemption team of Steve Roop, Eric Dube, Craig Norcross and Mike Reid also with a score of 57. The third place low gross winner with a score of 58 was the Bessey Motor Sales team of Doug VanDurme, John Emerson, Jr., Will Emerson and Adam Toutain.
