LEWISTON — Museum L-A will offer tours at the former Camden Yarns building, its future location, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19. The building is at 1 Beech St.
The tours are open to the public, who can see what’s been done so far as well as the planning process for relocating Museum L-A to its new site and building from its current location at the Bates Mill Complex, 35 Canal St.. Organizers said that fun games will be available for children to enjoy while tours are being conducted.
The museum also invites Balloon Festival guests to view its gallery and museum free of charge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18.
The current exhibit in the gallery features “Structures & Patterns: The Remnants of Our Work,” which is in collaboration with guest curator Janice L. Moore, fine arts painter, and photographer, Mark Marchesi. The exhibit includes works by these artists and incorporates authentic mill artifacts.
The hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Special tour requests and large group tours outside of these hours are available by appointment.
