KSB 2017 community grant cycle opens

AUGUSTA – The 2017 grant cycle for Kennebec Savings Bank’s Catalyst Capacity Building Grant opened on Aug. 1, Alicia Wing, community dividends director at the bank announced.

The program benefits communities and organizations in the bank’s service area by awarding grants to non-profit organizations in order to broaden their capacity and impact on the communities they serve, Wing said. The application process closes Sept. 30.
Through the grants, the bank provides up to $18,000 over the course of three years to each recipient for projects such as minor construction, the purchase of capacity-building equipment, the costs associated with expanding a program, or purchase of a service that will support the organization’s mission.
The Catalyst Capacity Building Grant was created last fall to support organizations in achieving new initiatives they have not been able to pursue because of financial constraints.
“We understand that many organizations need a little extra boost to take what they do to the next level,” said Andrew Silsby, president and CEO of Kennebec Savings Bank. “Our first grant recipients have expanded their services, created efficiencies and identified long-term solutions for financial support. We are pleased to offer this opportunity to more organizations and see what projects we will help jumpstart this year.”
Applications will be reviewed during October and awards announced in November.
