RANGELEY — The Rangeley Region Guides and Sportsmen’s Association will host its annual cookout, silent auction and open house will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17.
The outdoor shooting ranges and kid’s fishing pond will also be open and staffed by experts to offer instruction and tips to improve outdoor skills for the event.
The rifle/pistol ranges are on Morton Cutoff Road.The archery range and fishing pond are adjacent to the RRG&SA clubhouse on Old Skiway Road in Oquossoc. The shotgun range is at the end of Old Skiway Road.
The cookout will begin at 5 p.m., with hors d’oeurves under the clubhouse pavilion. The silent auction will offer outdoor items. A wide array of fly tying materials and equipment will be on sale to benefit the Club’s Junior Guides program. The cookout menu includes ribs, chicken, corn on the cob, side dishes, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
The event ticket includes the use of all equipment and ammunition at the ranges, as well as raffle prizes which will be drawn after dinner. The public is welcome to join members in this always popular event.
