Dr. Shaw Library August reading events include service dog visit

MOUNT VERNON — Summer children’s activities continue in Augusta at the Dr. Shaw Memorial Library with the Build A Better World summer reading program, including a special visit from Ruthie the service dog.
At 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2., children can create foam art banks.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, Ruby will be at the library with her service dog, Ruthie, to read a story about service dogs and answer questions. Ruby says Ruthie loves to be patted. Children will be treated to Ella’s ice cream afterwards.
Children should remember to bring their Build A Better World T-shirt transfers and completed reading logs to redeem prizes.
