AUGUSTA – Adrienne Bennett, press secretary to Gov. Paul LePage, will be joining Kennebec Savings Bank as vice president and director of marketing and communications beginning Aug. 7, Andrew Silsby, president and CEO of Kennebec Savings Bank announced July 11.
Bennet has than 15 years of communications experience in media and government public affairs, the bank said in a news release.
“We are looking forward to Adrienne’s expertise and know she will complement our team very well,” said Silsby. “She is a highly respected communications leader throughout our local community and state. The role of public relations and social media within the banking industry is ever increasing in importance and Adrienne’s experience will help Kennebec Savings Bank to continue its strong connection with our customers and the communities we serve.”
Bennett will remain in her state position through Aug. 2. She began working for LePage in January 2011 as his primary spokesperson and since has led the development and implementation of executive branch messaging and external communication, according to the release/

Bennett was the Waterville bureau chief reporter from 2007 to 2011 at WABI TV5, where she held positions also as executive producer and videographer beginning in 2002. In addition to her professional career, she has also volunteered for the Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center in Winthrop since 2005, and is a member of the Maine Domestic Violence and Abuse Commission.
Kennebec Savings Bank has offices in Augusta, Waterville, Winthrop and Farmingdale.
