LEEDS — The Leeds Volunteer Fire Department Barn Sale and Silent auction will include furniture for almost any room in the house, as well as a lot of other great items for the home or dorm room. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, and Sunday, July 16, at Sander-Lou Farm on North Road.
Furniture for sale will include items for the bedroom, dining room and living room, and there are also many household items, including dishes, vintage and new tools, books, sporting equipment, skis, camping and golf, office equipment, pictures and toys.
Anyone looking to redecorate, renovate or needing to outfit a child going to college will find what they need, including kitchen and bathroom sinks, organizers said. The auction will be a combination of open bids and raffle items. The bidding part of the auction will feature antique carnival glass, an antique butter churn, a Lionel train set and gift certificates from local businesses, including Andy Valley Refuse, Barker Plumbing and Heating, and more.
Photos of auction items are available on the town’s Facebook page. Other items will be raffled, and those buying tickets can choose which items they’d like to take a chance on. Raffle tickets will be $1 a ticket or six for $5. Items include a pocket watch, a framed watercolor by Marilyn Chamberlain, a trip to school in a firetruck and a lottery tree.
The auction will close at 3 p.m. Sunday and winners will be notified immediately. Winners need not be present to win. There will also be a bake sale both days. Fire Department members said they’d like to thank everyone who has donated this year.
The department is working on updating the scene lighting LED lights on the mutual aid pumper truck.
