Parenting and divorce classes begin July 11

Jul. 42017

WATERVILLE — The Kennebec Valley Community Action Program will be hosting “Cooperative Parenting and Divorce” classes Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 11 through Aug. 3, from 9 to 10 :30 a.m. in the first floor meeting room at KVCAP, 97 Water St.

This video-based, eight-week program gives divorcing or separating parents the power to make positive changes shielding their children from parental conflict and guiding them into establishing a long-term relationship with the children’s other parent. The sessions educate parents on the impact their conflict has on their children; explain children’s issues in divorce situations; teach parents the practical skills they need to manage anger, increase impulse control, resolve conflict and talk to each other without arguing; are designed to be the “next step” for parents in counties that require divorce seminars.

To register, please contact Emily Buckhalter at emilyb@kvcap.org or 207-859-1514.
