NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine recently celebrated National Cancer Survivor Day with a luncheon for survivors and caregivers at the center. Those attending celebrated survivorship from six months to 29 years. Visitors from So. Carolina also stopped by to join the festivities, since they were unable to attend their hometown celebration.
Survivors and caregivers enjoyed lunch donated by Hannaford Supermarket in Oxford. Door prizes of reflexology sessions, donated by Bonnie Van Durme, and therapeutic massage by Kat Larsen also were given away. Any survivor unable to attend this event is invited to stop in at the center, 199 Main St., any Thursday or Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to place their candle on the survivor cake.
