AUBURN — Earlier this spring the Auburn Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club surpassed a major milestone. The club has exceeded $500,000 in donations to various local charitable organizations.
The club was formed in 1991 and has enjoyed an average of 40 members. Through various fundraisers over the past 26 years, the club has focused on providing assistance to local charities, emphasizing efforts on the youth and elderly in our community. The club has also supported international efforts including an orphanage in Haiti that has local connections to the Lewiston Auburn area by way of Father Mark Boisvert.
Donations have been provided to more than 164 different organizations and charities, including the Boys and Girls Club, SEARCH, the High Street Food Pantry, Auburn Suburban Little League, Advocates for children and many others. The club meets at 7 a.m. Wednesday mornings at the United Methodist Church, 436 Park Ave. New members are always welcome to join.
