Lee M. Fontenot Jr.
1955-2017

AUBURN — Lee M. Fontenot Jr., 61, of Jay, died Wednesday, May 31, at Hospice House of Androscoggin, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Sept. 28, 1955, in Lake Charles, La., the son of Lee Mark Fontenot Sr. and Orelia (Menard) Fontenot. He attended Bell City schools.

Lee served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1974. On May 7, 1994, Lee married Jacqueline Payeur in Livermore Falls, and they made their home in Jay.

He worked at International Paper Company in Jay, retiring in 2006. He grew up guiding and hunting. Lee had a great love for the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hunting, four-wheeling and camping. He also was an avid fan of baseball and amateur boxing.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Fontenot of Jay; five sisters, Clarice Raichel and Carey Young, both of Lake Charles, Marlene Cox and Charlotte Koons, both of Bossier City, La., and Melissa Coffey of Galveston, Texas; one brother, Mickey Fontenot of Lake Charles; and his dog, Cody. He was predeceased by his parents.

A funeral service was held at the Church of the Nazarene, 6 Wheeler St., Livermore Falls.

Interment was at Pleasant View Cemetery, 51 Fayette Road, Livermore Falls.
