Catholic Charities Maine seeks Kennebec County volunteers to support elderly residents

May. 312017

AUGUSTA — Catholic Charities Maine is seeking Kennebec County volunteers to help support seniors in the area.

“We believe that our seniors should receive honor and care with dignity and respect, especially during the last years of their life’s journey,” said a news release from the organization. “Since Maine leads the nation with the largest senior population, we have a huge challenge in front of us. In fact, without the love and support from family, friends, and caring people like you, we couldn’t provide the support needed for our elderly. With your assistance in volunteering we can all make a difference in the life of a senior.”

Volunteers donate a few hours a week to help an isolated senior with a friendly visit, a ride to the grocery store or a phone call. To volunteer in Kennebec County, or for more information, contact Lynn Kidd of the SEARCH program of Catholic Charities Maine at 530-0137 or lkidd@ccmaine.org.
