Whatever Family Festival, spread over three weeks, will feature Kennebec River Day

May. 292017

AUGUSTA — The Whatever Family Festival this year will feature events throughout Kennebec County, beginning with the Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festival in Litchfield on Tuesday, June 14.

The festival ends spectacular fireworks in Augusta on the Fourth of July. Now in its 40th year, the festival will also feature events from Gardiner to Winthrop and everywhere in between. The festival will also go back to the river, with Kennebec River Day in Mill Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 24.

The day will replace Kid’s Day, which had been held at Capitol Park. It will now feature events for all ages, including games and activities for the kids, craft vendors and live music, as well as activities throughout Augusta downtown such as beer tasting and wagon rides.
