OAKLAND — The Oakland United Baptist Church will offer a pancake breakfast at July’s Oakfest, the third year the church has participated in the town’s summer celebration, which is also in its third year.
The church “has been and continues to be an instrumental part of the Oakland community,” according to a news release. The pancake breakfast will be 7 to 10 a.m., Saturday, July 22, during the weekend Oakfest celebration.
In addition to Sunday services, the church, at 47 Church St., also has active service groups, including those for youth. Its Blessings in a Backpack program provides weekend meals and snacks for students attending Oakland schools, it also hosts the Women’s Missions rummage sales, Ladies Circle Holiday Fair and the American Red Cross blood drives. The church also plans its annual yard sale for Saturday, Aug. 5, to benefit Blessings in a Backpack.
Sunday services are currently being conducted by guest speakers, the release said.
