AUBURN — Auburn pet owner, Rebekah Leonard, is searching for the siblings of her dog, Aria Von Hammersmark. Leonard is using social media and traditional news sources to begin her search. She recently said that she would love to find Aria’s siblings and then have a birthday party playdate with all siblings present on or around their second birthday on Sunday, Aug. 27.

Leonard stated, “Aria has floppy ears, blond fur with white markings and is a mix of Shar Pei, Labrador, Golden Retriever, Pit Bull, Chow Chow, and German Shepherd. She weighs about 55 pounds and is in good physical shape.” She added, “She has a wrinkly face like a Shar Pei.” As a puppy, Aria’s nose was all black but has turned to all pink as she has gotten older.

When Leonard adopted Aria from the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society in Lewiston in November 2015, Aria’s brother was waiting to be adopted, too. “Her brother looked exactly like her, maybe a little more wrinkly,” said Leonard. “I learned that Aria had six or seven siblings and all had been given names that began with the letter ‘h.’ The name on Aria’s cage was Haven.”

Another hint about the litter Aria was born into is that the litter came to the GAHS shelter from the “south.”

Leonard is fairly certain that she bumped into one of Aria’s siblings at a local pet store in Auburn. This “missed connection” took place in either December 2015 or January 2016. “Unfortunately, I did not have Aria with me. I talked to the owners of the dog, but they did not seem as enthused about reuniting the siblings as I am.” Leonard added, “I think it would be a lot of fun and heartwarming to reunite the siblings. Please contact me if you have any information about Aria’s siblings.”
