JAY – Terry L. Nichols, 65, died at his home, May 1, with his loving family by his side, following a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Born Sept. 29, 1951, in Lewiston, the son of Vern Nichols and Eloise (Grant) Nichols, he graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1970, then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving a three- year tour in Vietnam.

After returning home, he married his high school sweetheart, Irene Lauzier, Oct. 27, 1973, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. They made their home in Jay, raising their two children and enjoying grandchildren, family and friends. He loved camping and going to the races. Terry first worked at Livermore Shoe then became an over-the-road trucker for 30 years. He was a member of the Canton Masonic Lodge, Kora Temple Shrine in Lewiston, the Frank L. Mitchell V.F.W. Post 3335 in Jay, and the George Bunton Post 10 in Livermore Falls.

Survivors include his loving wife, Irene Nichols of Jay; his daughter, Kelly King, and husband Scott of Livermore; his son, Jason Nichols and wife Stephanie of Jay; grandchildren Tyler King and wife Samantha of Gray, Kallie King of East Livermore, Brooke Osgood and husband Spencer of California, Nathaniel Steele of Jay, and Jakob and Brady Nichols of Jay; a brother, Douglas Nichols, and companion Trudy Bishop; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Vern Nichols; his mother, Eloise Nichols Brackett; and his beloved dog “Abby.”

His family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful care they showed Terry.
