The early bird gets to watch the birds at annual bird walk May 13

NORWAY — Join the Western Foothills Land Trust for its 30th annual bird walk Saturday, May 13 (rain date, Sunday, May 14) beginning at 7 a.m. at the warming hut at Roberts Farm Preserve, 64 Roberts Road, where expert birders and new birders are invited to join the walk through a variety of habitats.

Saturday kicks off the group’s 30th anniversary year celebration with its annual bird walk. Attendees are advised to bring binoculars, bird guides and curiosity. There is often a blend of expert birders and beginners — all are welcome. The birders hope to identify 30 to 40 species of birds in two hours.

There is no charge, but donations are welcomed and will be used towards the new kiosk at Roberts Farm. For more information, call 207-739-2124.
