WATERVILLE — More than 20 area organizations will be on hand to encourage fun ways to stay healthy, and kids will get free bicycle helmets and try out an inflatable obstacle course, at the Greater Waterville Kiwanis 10th annual Kids Health Safety Fun Fair.
The event is 8:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 6, at Messalonskee Middle School in Oakland. There is no charge to attend the fair, which is the Waterville Kiwanis’ largest yearly community event. It’s also the May activity for Inland Hospital’s Let’s Go program.
The fair kicks off with an 8:30 a.m. fun run for kids ranging in age from infants in strollers to 12-year olds.
Free new bicycle helmets will be also be provided to all children who attend and two bicycles with helmets will be raffled off. There will be a 60-foot inflatable obstacle course, supervised and managed by Waterville Adventure Climbing Company, free for all kids to try tout. Parents of smaller kids can walk through it as well.
Non-perishable food and non-food donations will be accepted to support the local school backpack programs.
