Weekly pain-management clinic available at Franklin Memorial Hospital

FARMINGTON — A once-a-month pain-management clinic is available on Wednesdays at Franklin Memorial Hospital, provided by Peter Marshall, MD, of New England Sport & Spine.

The clinic, which began April 5, is held on Wednesdays in the Day Surgery Unit at the hospital through a specialty service partnership with Manchester-based NESS. Marshall provides interventional pain management services at NESS, according to a news release from the hospital.

A referral from a physician is required to attend the clinic. Marshall provides services such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, SI joint injections, and regional IV blocks for complex regional pain syndrome, the release said. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Anesthesiology, and the American Board of Pain Medicine.

Marshall earned a medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine, followed by an internal medicine residency and an anesthesiology residency at Hartford Hospital. Before joining NESS, Marshall provided anesthesia services at Eastern Maine Medical Center and also was clinical director of EMMC Pain Services.
