Apr. 112017

LEWISTON – Ethan San Pedro, a 6th-grader at Fairview Elementary School in Auburn, prepares to take a big bite out of a Rice Crispy bunny made for his Oma, June van Mourik, by her good friend Sharon Poulin. Van Mourik and Poulin, with the help of many others, will be selling items like this, as well as pastries, pies, chocolates and other delectable Easter-themed delights at the Central Maine Medical Center Woman’s Hospital Association’s annual Easter Bake Sale.

This sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at 60 High St., on the mezzanine level, located just above the main entrance to the hospital. All proceeds will benefit The Sam and Jennie Bennett Breast Care Center. The fund, created in 2009, for the last eight years has financially helped patients who either do not have insurance or do not have adequate insurance coverage to have screening mammograms, ultrasounds and/or breast biopsies. The program is called “O’Momma Care.”
